I've always been an adventurer, but here lately, a very good friend of mine has taught me to expand my"outside the box" a little more and when I saw this painting on the wall of a museum, it made me think of her (yes, u Laurie :0) and really made me realize just how much the world is a canvas to the imagination, just waiting for us to reach out there, grab & explore-so that's what I've started doing, in a different way!I started by introducing the kids to the library. I absolutely LOVE to read and there is a whole world of adventure right there at your fingertips, waiting to be explored. You can go wherever you like, wherever you allow your mind to take you, by whatever book you choose. Sooo, off to the library we go! Hmmmm, not such a good idea for a 2 & 4 year old when right when they walk in the door, there is a HUGE train set and toys for them to play with! Sooo, after trying unsuccessfully to pursuade them to come look at the books, I decide to let them play while I pick out some books for them. I choose a couple of books for them for school; the world of insects, fish & animals. Even they weren't so enthused about the thousands of books just waiting for them to choose from, they were very enthused when we got home and they actually started looking at the books! Everyday they pull them out, wanting to learn new things from them and have actually learned a lot and in a fun way! Needless to say, they can't wait to go back to the library again, so it ended up opening a whole new world to them that I was hoping it would!
Our next adventure was the Art Museum and we had an absolute blast there! (yes, I said we-I played as much as they did!) They have the coolest hands on, kids room for them that was so much fun! The 1st thing that I found was the wall of colors-WAY TOO COOL!!!! I don't know how it does it, but you stand in front of it and it takes your image and portrays it a thousand different ways and in hundreds of different colors! I danced and played in front of that wall just about the whole time!

Tammy & Lauren tried their hand at writing backwards through a mirror-WAY messed up but fun!!! We got to laughing so hard, we could hardly write!
There were many things for the kids to explore and play with; they had dress up clothes that transformed the girls into princesses....
had stuff for them to learn about table manners & being hostesses..
art easels, buckets upon buckets of learning toys...

Soooo, it's just a whole world out there, waiting to be explored and all it takes is a little imagination!!!!
